Biography
Alicia joined Austin Coming Together (ACT) in 2018 as the Marketing & Development Manager, bringing over ten years of marketing experience to the role. She was promoted to Director of Marketing & Development in July 2022. At ACT, she leverages her creativity and passion for helping others in order to effectively oversee membership, external relations, resource development, and all communications efforts on behalf of the organization.
When the pandemic hit, Alicia's commitment to the work was clear when she took on outreach around emergency pop-up food pantries, testing and vaccine resources, and PPE distributions. Other accomplishments in the role include planning and executing events that exceeded fundraising goals, establishing countless relationships, and initiating the Austin Cares campaign that is still actively generating support for ACT.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Media Management from Columbia College Chicago and is a 2019 graduate of Crain's Leadership Academy. In 2022, Alicia was nominated for recognition as one of 30 West Side Women of Wisdom & Inspiration due to her inspiring work on behalf of those in need, specifically mentioning "Alicia has shown a love for Austin and a commitment to her profession that is very commendable. Her dedication, passion, and longevity is inspiring to many." Alicia grew up in Oak Park and now resides in Berwyn.
