How this will help
This project will save us $2,940 , allowing us to invest in the amazing work CBOs are doing in Austin.
The Quality of Life plan for the Austin community in Chicago is very complex and has multiple levels and stakeholders that I am responsible for bringing together to increase the quality of life in a dis-invested neighborhood. A lot of this work happens through meetings, and productive meetings are the key to moving forward in implementing the plan. I need to have the skills to conduct effective non-burdensome meetings with our robust group of stakeholders in the community.

Our mission
To increase the collective impact of our members on education and economic development outcomes in the Austin community.
What we do
There's a lot happening in Chicago's Austin community. Decades of disinvestment has created a complex collection of challenges that have only been worsened by the pandemic, such as food insecurity, quality education, and well-paying jobs. Austin was one of the areas hit hardest by COVID-19 because of the underlying instability here. Right now, residents are even struggling to get their kids connected to online learning, or with simply paying their rent.
But Austin is so much more than that. It is an incredibly passionate community of people who truly care for one another. Recent years have seen an uprising of individuals and groups working together to create change.
And that is why Austin Coming Together (ACT) cares!
We have been serving and caring for Austin since 2010, so when crisis struck, we jumped into action doing what we do best -- identifying needs and helping to generate opportunities for solutions.
Alongside our members and other partners, we've been able to mobilize resources and distribute them through pop-up events and other local engagement efforts.
We support a network of 50+ member organizations in our collective mission support Austin, and we do that by enhancing social service delivery, attracting public and private investment, and building a capacity for policy change, all while focusing on maintaining engagement with the community.
